If
your neurologist considers that you would not benefit from treatment, according
to the criteria set out, it is worth asking the neurologist to explain their
decision, and whether there are any alternative treatments, for example one
of the unlicensed therapies.
It is sometimes better not to take a disease modifying treatment when they
are unproven and may cause side effects.
If you are not happy with the advice you are given,
you are entitled to ask your GP for a referral to another specialist for a
second opinion, just as you could for any treatment.
