Now
that you have worked through the decision aid and found out how the five drugs measure up against
factors that are important to you, we hope you will feel more comfortable about the decision ahead.
It may be that you are now fairly sure about which option to choose - in which case you should discuss this preference with your neurologist when you next see him or her. Take your print-out of the completed 'Weighing it all up' section with you as an aid to your discussion.
On the other hand, it may be that working through this website has left questions unresolved in your mind, or issues which you would like to look into further before making the decision. If this is the case, think about who you could talk to - your neurologist or MS nurse specialist can help in answering questions, or it may be that a friend or trusted family member can help you think through the options further.
You may decide that you would like to talk at first hand to other people who have been on disease modifying drugs - in which case your neurology centre may be able to put you in touch with another patient who has been through the same decision. You might also want to visit the online discussion forums on the MS Society or MS Trust website. But remember, other people's experiences of disease modifying drugs are unlikely to be exactly the same as yours.
